Pinwheels are the ultimate baby food! Dumpling loves pinwheels as it is tasty and easy to hold. I gave this to Dumpling from 6 months and he was able to hold them and eat them "relatively" mess free!

Mess level: Can be slightly messy, but manageable. The pastry crumbles, however it is quite easy for a baby to hold and therefore they can eat quite a lot of it.

Perfect for: Picnics and outdoor dining.

Ingredients:

- 1 sheet Puff Pastry

- Toppings

Variations:

- Spinach, Mozzarella & Pesto (See Homemade Pesto recipe here)

- Spinach & Cream Cheese

- Cream Cheese & Blueberries

- Apple, Blueberries and Cinnamon

- Ham & Cheese

- Options are endless!

Method:

1. Take the puff pastry out from fridge and keep at room temperature for about 10 mins. It makes it easier to work with.

2. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface

3. Spread toppings all over pastry

4. Roll up the dough and slice to about 2cm thickness

5. Pace on greased baking tray or baking paper and bake for 12-14 minutes at 200 degrees until golden brown.

Storage:

Keep in airtight container for up to 24 hours or freeze for up to 3 months. Defrost at room temperature. I normally take it out in the morning ready for lunch.
