When travelling a little one, play areas are the best ways to kill time and burn off their energy. It makes a world of difference when an airport has a play area. Luckily, many London airports are well equipped with kids zones.
Below are a list of the kids play areas at London airports:
Heathrow
All Heathrow Terminals have a Stay and Play area for kids. They include slides, soft play areas, separate areas for babies and kids. It is for children under the age of 9 and must be accompanied with an adult. Kids must bring socks!
The play areas are open from 6am to 9pm and are located in the departure lounges after security.
Terminal 2 - Main terminal 2A near Gate 16.
Terminal 3 - Access via stairs and lifts near Ted Baker & Dixons Travel. It's a bit tricky to find as its the back of departure lounge and you need to take the lifts up. Follow the signs to play area. It is well worth the trek as its got a lovely big play area for kids, comfy chairs for parents and discreet areas for nursing mothers.
Terminal 4 - On the way to Gates 1-6.
Terminal 5 - Main Terminal 5A near Gate A7.
Gatwick Airport
South Terminal - Can't miss it. It's right in front of the food and shops
North Terminal kids area is currently closed and will reopen in early 2020.
London City Airport
Interactive play area located between gates 5-6.
Luton Airport
