I absolutely love Japanese food. I missed sashimi and sushi so much when I was pregnant. Since giving birth, I've been going to my fair share of Japanese restaurants to make up for the 9 months of not having sushi and sashimi.
It was a Wednesday afternoon and I was taking Dumpling to the Science Museum. I decided to meet my sister and have spot of lunch with her first. We went to Tombo so I can get my Japanese fix.
Initially, I didn't think it would be very baby friendly. There were a few steps up to the restaurant and a few more steps up to the seating area. However the staff were all very accommodating and made us feel welcome.

I ordered the poke bowl and my sister ordered the aubergine katsu curry. My poke bowl was delicious but a bit on the small side. My sister enjoyed her aubergine katsu curry.
I bought a lunchbox for Dumpling, however there are menu items you can order for a baby. For example Avocado & Hijiki Sushi, Sushi Rice and you can request a poached egg.

The only downside to the venue is that there are no baby change facilities.
1️⃣ Close to station and step free access: It is not close to a step free tube station, however it is only a short walk from a bus station. No 14 from Green Park drops off close to the cafe
2️⃣ Baby Change Facilities: No
3️⃣ Space for buggy: Yes, we parked the buggy at the door as Dumpling is old enough to sit on a high chair. The staff are very accommodating and I'm sure you can ask for the buggy to be next to you if baby is still to young to sit up.
4️⃣ High Chairs: Yes.
5️⃣ Breastfeeding convenience: Yes
📍 29 Thurloe Pl, South Kensington, London SW7 2HQ
Verdict: Can be baby-friendly, however baby change facilities required.
