After a day of shopping, my parents and I went to Sketch for a late lunch. I had been to Sketch before for afternoon tea and drinks. I used to really enjoy my visits to Sketch, probably partly because of the novelty of its whimsical interiors. It is such a pretty and instagrammable venue.

When we arrived at Sketch that afternoon, we went to the desk to ask for a table for lunch. The staff at the desk offered us a table in The Palour however he asked to take baby out and check in our pram. As 🥟 was awake and he is old enough to sit in a high chair, I did not object to checking in the pram.

We ordered from the all day menu, two main meals and one dessert to share. The Cheese & Mushroom Brioche was delicious however very rich. The Fish and Chips was average for the price of the dish, there seemed to be more chips than fish. The Coconut & Yuzu cake was the highlight though.

Sadly my experience this time was not as positive as my prior visits. Firstly the service was very slow. We were sat at the pack of the room and we felt somewhat neglected at times. Slow service is always tricky when dining with a baby. You never know when they will lose patience! Secondly, it took a long time to get a high chair. In fact I had to ask twice to get one to our table. The high chair came after the food was served which meant I had to eat one handed for a little while. Thirdly, the waitress messed up our order and gave me a bit of attitude when I told her about it. I ordered a flat white but she gave me a white tea.

In the end I walked away feeling a bit disappointed and didn't really enjoy our lunch as I would have liked.

1️⃣ Close to station and step free access: It is a 10min walk from Green Park station or Bond Street station which are step free. However there are a few steps inside Sketch itself.

2️⃣ Baby Change Facilities: Yes

3️⃣ Space for buggy: No, it appears that they would not like to have prams or buggy inside. We were asked to leave our pram in the cloak room.

4️⃣ High Chairs: Yes.

5️⃣ Breastfeeding convenience: Yes.

📍9 Conduit Street, Mayfair W1S 2XG

Verdict: It has all the facilities to be baby friendly, however the service was lacking on this occasion.
